Very judgemental in their voting. I thought the criteria is a major impact on rock n roll? I still hear songs by the groups you mentioned on the radio, along with REM, Van Halen, the Beatles, Stones, etc.

I love all the bands that you have mentioned! I don't understand it either, they just inducted some Rapper this time I think the above bands are more deserving, I think Bad Company should be in there too, it is supposed to be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not for rappers. I really think Boston and Foreigner should be there.

Definitely biased. There was a long discussion about this very topic on the George Thorogood fan message board. Now they are letting in groups that hardly quality as Rock & Roll (maybe they should change the name to Popular Music Hall of Fame). Doesn't make sense to me.

The rock in roll hall of fame is for the BEST of the BEST. Of who you listed I could see maybe Boston as being nominated,Journey a big maybe. You have to draw the line somewhere, and if your not the best of the best you should get bumped.
Sorry, thats just the way it is.

you might want to have a look at the timeline.
artists aren't inducted in the hall of fame until after 25 years pass since their debut album was released.

I used to live about an hour from it but never been there. Everyone I've ever heard from who has been there said it was not worth the time or money. They'd rather sit on a park bench and eat ice cream cones and let the pigeons crap on them.

Styx was a great band. Dennis left and I really never heard of a song from them that was worth anything.

Yes they do. They don't want to seem soft and let people in on pop appeal and record sales. However, many 80's babies think some of these songs are classics and important to our lives.
