My period is 9 days late. I went to the doctor 3 days ago to discuss some medication they had wanted to put me on and I told her my concerns about being late. The nurse did a pee test and she said it was negative. I told her my period is never off and I really don't have that much stress in my life at the moment so I just don't understand. All she had to say was that she wasn't sure. My question is could it have been to early to test? Are the tests they do at the clinic stronger than the average home pregnancy test. I didn't seem to be getting much information from the woman and I just want to know if I could possibly still be pregnant. Should I wait and test again at a later time? How long should I wait? Going to another doctor really isn't possible, because of the insurace I have. Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

i did a hpt when i was 1 week late and it was neg i waited another week and still neg. i didn't show a positive until i was 3 weeks late. maybe you should wait a week or so and retest. your hgc levels might not of high enough to show a positive yet. my doc said that some women hgc levels are so low at 1st no pregnancy test will show up positive for awhile. wait and retest.

Since it was almost a week after your period was due, normally a test would be accurate. There's always that chance that it wasn't right and you could be pregnant. The tests at the doctor's are usually the same ones you use at home. Really, the only thing you can do is go back to the doctor and have them do a blood test.

when i tested for pregnancy nothing showed up either time (i have been pregnant twice) for like one and half weeks to two weeks past my period. if you still don't get it about 14 days past your period i would test again.

Ask for a blood test and see if the meds you were on could mess with your cycle.
