Before you assume I'm Canadian, I'm not. I'm American. I posted the reverse also...asking what the average Canadian thinks of the U.S. I got only a few answers...most were pretty bitter but admittedly thought provoking. The ones I got on the American "side" were more about beer and weather and the fact they say "eh?" a lot. I was going for a bit more insight but what're ya gonna do. Kind of a little experiment.

I think of Canada as being remote in many areas; colder than I'd like; self-sufficient; more of a humanitarian country than the US as far as its own citizens go; beautiful in some areas; the people seem down to earth, pretty friendly but with an attitude that says 'you're welcome here but we don't need you'. :) It seems like a basically peaceful nation, environmentally aware, good neighbor.

I really resent that Canadians refer to me as "average" (just kidding) I think that the average Canadian says , "Hey" , allot. They always wear those hats with "ears", hey? Dudley Do Right always was a good ambassador for Canadians. During the Vietnam war Canada was the place to go visit (like forever). I hear their Meds are cheaper there to. They have universal health care and is that a good place to cross the border to the USA illegally? In general I think of Canadians as any foreigner visiting the U.S., mostly polite and just looking forward to having a great time here. They seem like very ordinary people to me , Mr. Average. You're welcome.

I think of Canada as being a better place to live than the U.S. because you never hear about anything really bad happening in Canada. But I live in Vermont so it's boardering with Canada so there isn't much difference.

Most Americans don't think about Canada very much. In Michigan, we do though cause it's a border state.

I wish I lived closer so I could get tylenol with codeine. For PMS, it's the only thing that works. And my husband's vicious migraines too. But doctors won't precribe it if you ask for it :-(
