1)S*** in the bud

The usual slang would be "Nipped in the bud." This is based on what a gardener does to control a plant's growth and derives by allusion to the de-budding of plants. the earlier form of the phrase was 'nip in the bloom' and this is cited in Henry Chettle's romance Piers Plainnes Seaven Yeres Prentiship, 1595:

"Extinguish these fond loues with minds labour, and nip thy affections in the bloome, that they may neuer bee of power to budde."

But we use it now to refer to other things. For example, if you smoked a couple of cigarettes and then never touched them again, you would say you "nipped that habit in the bud."

2.) I've never heard Say & Tell. There is a traditional
phrase from grade school, a practice called "Show
and Tell" in early grades, where the student brings
some item from home and talks about it. So the child,
for example, brings to school, his favorite game, shows
it to the class and talks about it.

3) Ho Sister. "Ho" has been used since Shakespeare's time, most frequently as an interjection. Now it means Hello, a synonym for "Yo". In common with the word "sister," it would be a greeting of sorts, one that could
easily be intended as an insult.

Sometimes it refers to a woman of ill repute.
