Tell the server that you are having a business lunch and would not like to be disturbed. You may also want to tell them that if he/she sees drinks getting low to bring out fresh ones (that is less disturbing than taking the glass for a refill then returning).
If the server complies, leave a great tip and ask for them again in the future.

Try having your meeting in Your office. The table you are at is the waiters means of making money. If you keep that table for 2 hours they could have had another guest sit there and increased the amount they might have made. So if you are going to tie up a table in their section then make sure you compensate them with a double tip if everything was fine.
Start the meal of by telling them you will push your plate away when you want it cleared and you will make eye contact when you need something.

Normally..what would i do is ..if i were the one who will arrange for the meeting..i would always let the manager or anybody incharge know that i would be having a business meeting and appreciate it if i would not be disturb or service unless i will call upon them for added refreshment or anything else..And as for the plate..there is actually a sign you can do in order to let the waiter know that you havent finish your meal yet by placing your cutleries outwards instead placing them together..
cutleries outwards means i'm not finish yet..give me sometime and cutleries together means i'm done eating, please take the plate away....
good luck!

Ask the waiter/waitress if someone is waiting for your table. Then just tell him/her to not to interrupt you again. A good waiter/waitress will pass by your table without any interruption, but be nearby to meet any requests..
Bad or poor service is not being available and being a pest. Both are equally annoying.
Just remember when it is time to calculate the tip and reduce the amount accordingly...

if you go out to a restaurant and when the waitor tries to take your plate grab it and say excuse me, i wasnt done. also if you are having a buisness meeting and then the waitor/ess keeps coming by you and grabbing your drinks and coming back with the refilled ones, just say that you are having a meeting and then he/she should understand. then maybe say something like when you see that we ran out of beverages can you please just come with an already filled cup then just take away the empty one, which was at the table. if he/she is and understanding waitor/ess they will say ok. if he/ she gives you a bad look, walks away, then continues to do what he/she was doing before i would complain to the manager or someone above the waitor/ess.

all you have to do is tell the server nicely that you will let them know if you need anything else...most people who do this are stern from the beginning and that is not necessary....a good server should be able to read your body language and know when you wish to be left alone during the meal, but it is ok to let them know if you are having a meeting and wish to be left alone...please keep in mind the length of your meeting when figuring a tip...not fair to the server if you sit there for 3 hours and leave 15%

Restaurants are not for business meetings. Offices are for that . alternately book a table in a hotel restaurant and advise the manager of your requirements and be prepared to pay

State to the restaurant that you don`t want to be disturbed, give them a little extra money when you`re making reservations and they`ll leave you alone.

After the first time just sweetly say (whilst looking him in the eye) " We don't need anything else at all, everything's fine thankyou."
Keep some food on your plate and keep holding your fork, then they should not take the plate away.
