Dems hate democracy. They think only people on their side should be allowed to vote.

Au Contraire, we believe in the democratic process. We also believe that all votes should be fairly counted and all voters should be given the chance to do so. What WE hate is when republicans manipulate this process.

Sounds like the typical southerners out again. Most of the south is nothing but a bunch of bible thumpers who vote in bible thumpers. Since homosexuals are really a minority and heterosexuals don't "understand" their lifestyle its not unreasonable to imagine that those would vote against it.

What is important to say is the progression homosexuals have made on society in the last 50 years. If that vote were taken 50 years ago in the south it may be more like 97% instead of 78%.

Again back to the bible it allegedly says that homosexuals are bad evil people that destroy homes but and that of course is what mainstream christians will believe. I expect nothing less out of the south. However with more and more northerners moving in its going to be fun to watch just how quickly the south become more progressive. Eventually they will come around and just like blacks, you'll see homosexuals given rights they thought were impossible 50 years ago.

Most states have banned it. And, if we are for gay marriage, how is that hating democracy? That shows we want everyone to have equal rights.

Prove that I think that, please.

As for the gay marriage issue... no one ever voted to determine whether straight people should be allowed to marry. Where's the precedent for allowing the people to vote on marriage?

It was already banned in South Carolina by law. This just made sure that the laws were more difficult to change.

And yes, most Democrats oppose gender-based discrimination. They prefer equality for everyone.

As far as your comment about democracy, you have it backwards. The Democrats aren't the ones (in this case) ramming their religious beliefs down everyone elses throat just beacuse they happen to have a temporary majority.
