Why no font coming up on monitor as i type? Simple answer please?

Suddenly no font is coming up on my monitor/screen. Please tell in simple words how to correct. Thanks

What program are you using? Are you trying to type an email or a Word document? Perhaps you may not have clicked in the area where you want to type. You can always reboot your computer and try again - that's a common way to resolve little computer glitches.
