Although I was raised on the original trilogy, I have become very partial to Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. I think that, even tho Hayden Christensen isn't the best actor in the world, the story of Anakin's downward spiral to the dark side is a very intriguing story. Acting skills and campy dialogue aside, the story line is superb.
In fact, my wife (who isn't the biggest SW fan in the world) has a serious passion for Episode III. She proclaims over and over again, in regards to Anakin's transformation to Darth Vader, "It's NOT HIS FAULT!" LOL She points out that Anakin's fall from grace was a combination of love, fear, desperation, and anger, all focused on Padme...thanks to some manipulation by Palpatine/Darth Sidius, of course.
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back runs a close second for me. That movie has multiple storylines working: Luke's path of discovery, the (re) introduction of Yoda, the early flames of love between Han and Leia, and Darth's first hint of willingness to turn on the Emperor ("Luke, with our combined strength, we can end this conflict and bring order to the Galaxy.").
Remember, Anakin hungered for peace and order. His lust for power and recognition were manipulative seeds planted by the Emperor. Anakin merely turned to the Dark Side as a means to an end...hopes of saving Padme's life. This, in all that is Star Wars, is the great tragedy.

I love Return of the Jedi. When I was in elementary school and I had to stay home sick, I always had a little Star Wars marathon. I loved the ewoks when I was little, and of course the opening sequence, and I guess it just stuck even when I grew up and the three new ones were released.

Empire Strikes Back. It had the backbone story lines:
-the love story between Han & Leia
-the training of the new jedi master who will ultimately bring balance to the force
-you actually see the awesome stranglehold the Empire has on the Galaxy (the fear on Cloud City)
-how many snow battles do you see in movies?
-and the ultimate...the revelation that Vader is actually Aniken...I know it seems like old news now but think back to when that was first revealed...wow.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace was the best. The graphics and effects were awesome. Plus it liad the groundwork for the whole Star Wars Saga. The second best though is Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It tied the first trilogy together with the second trilogy

The first one - Episode IV: A New Hope.
Kicked off the series, revolutionized special effects and science fiction, and made most of an entire generation into total dorks.

The first one released which is the 4th one in the time-line. The rest are just poor copies of the original. I love George Lucas as a story teller but by the time he completed 6 films on the same subject he lost his creativity.
Star Wars A New Beginning.
