You are burning the oil out the exhaust! look for blue smoke! The noise you are hearing is a rod knock which means your engine is on it's last leg! Time for a new engine or new vehicle! The oil may also be going in the radiator if the haed gasket is blown which sounds possible!

Dude! get the parts right, the "needle going to HOT is your radiator. The oil leak is another issue that can cause the engine to heat up.
How is the radiator fluid, check it cold.
The noises you hear are from no lubrication in the engine. You need to get it to a shop regardless if you want to drive it or not it will seize up on you and then you have a bucket 'O' Crap

This is ONLY going to be solved in a mechanic's shop. Be prepared for bad news.
With your NEXT vehicle, don't sign on the dotted line until you've taken it to your own mechanic to have it looked at. If the dealer tries to talk you out of doing that, the car is not worth even talking about.
Will you have to pay? yes. A worker is worthy of his hire. But stop to consider: Do you REALLY want to spend THOUSANDS in the dark, or Thousands plus 50 bucks for a little peace of mind?

The ticking noise is very bad. Sounds like you bought a lemon. Check the lemon laws in your state and you may be able to get it fixed for free. But do it quick your car is hurting.

The previous owner over heated the engine.

Blown head gasket. Or warped head. or both.

$2000 to repair.
