You hear all these horrible stories on TV all the time about men in positions of power abusing it, so the question is, should anyone trust men? Or are all men, including me, untrustworthy?

No, not ALL men are horrible. But obviously more than enough rotten apples have spoiled the barrel.
As a lesbian, I am cautious about men trying coming on to me or my wife, posing as our friends. People who date men might have different trust issues with them. Yes, there are some women who cannot be trusted at all, too!

the men who can be trusted (just like the women who can) are those who do not aspire to power, so aren't scandals on tv, in fact are rarely noticed outside the circle of friends, family and work in which they are trusted. I like to think the majority of people can be trusted.

Its like saying I knew a woman who had an affair, can all women not be trusted! There are some PEOPLE I dont trust. Good and bad in both.

If you want to know what a man is like, observe his actions. Pay no attention to what he says.
In general, men will say anything to get what they want. They don't consider this lying (although women do), just a good success strategy.

You can't really judge a person by their sex. It's really on the individual person because I don't trust a lot of people, but it's not because they're a man or a woman; it's because of who they are.

so no, they cant be trusted. this isnt necessarily a bad thing - it just means they are human.
