Typically at your office, do you and your fellow co-workers typically eat in or go out on your hour break? If you usually go out, why is that? Why don't you bring your lunch and save money? I ask this because the people in my office go out almost every day and I would think that would get expensive.

Would love to go to a park, but I only get a 1/2 hour lunch unfortunately...I get 2, 15 minute breaks. With my new promotion going into effect hopefully next week, I think i'll be going salary and I will get an hour lunch and maybe i'll be able to do that. :-)

I had the same promblems.I worked at a customer service job for a major auto maker. We made good money so most of the time everyone wanted to go out.
If you thought about it like this what is your average min. credict card bill lets just say 50.00 for a nice even number.O.k. now say thatyou spent 6.00 on breafast and then another 8.00 on lunch and 5.00 for snacks or a speciality drink well thats 19.00 for two of your meals per day.Thats 95.00 per week if you did it five days a week. So do the math it gets very expensive.I think a lot of it is just time to bee social and talk to other adults. If you want to go fine. You could just order a side or split a meal

I have the bad habit of running down to the hospital cafeteria and bringing lunch back to my desk. I try to bring my lunch but actually it's been a few months. I have very little 'free' time to do any grocery shopping between work and school and not to mention I'm not a morning person making it hard to prepare and pack a lunch in the morning. That will change soon as I've moved in with my boyfriend...no more running back and forth between addresses, we'll also start cooking at home instead of eating out nearly every night of the week (when I don't skip dinner) too. It's just hard...I know packing a lunch is healthier (usually), cheaper, etc...I just hate taking the extra time to do it!

I always go out, after 4 hrs or so, i get sick of looking at the same desk. Its not like your not going to see it again the next day and the day another. Besides, If you can afford to eat out, why save your money, you only live once and either way you will have your co-workers to add a good joke in over lunch.

I usually bring my own lunch. I can't even imagine eating out everyday! Even if you just grab a hamburger meal from McDonalds, that's at least $4 a day.. multiply that by five times a week, then multiply that by four weeks..that turns out to be $100 a month just to eat out!!
I'll go out with my coworkers maybe twice a month. Other then that, I'll either pack a lunch or run home really quick.

Because you're at work at least 40 hours a week. Any chance they give you to get away should be taken. You could even bring your lunch and go to a park or something and eat.

Because sandwiches and salads get old very fast. I live by myself and rarely have leftovers for the next day. Also, it's good for you to get out of the office for a little while sometimes.

I GO OUT EVERYDAY BECAUSE
1: TO NEED TO GET AWAY FROM THE OFFICE FOR A WHILE
AND
2: I TAKE MY HUSBAND HIS LUNCH TO HIS WORK EVERYDAY BECAUSE I GET A FULL HOUR AND HE ONLY GETS A HALF HOUR.AND IT IS NICE TO GET TO SEE EACH OTHER FOR A LITTLE WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY.
