A burst eardrum will heal on its own, but because you got water in your ear, there is a strong possibility of infection developing. This can be dangerous. You really need to see a doctor for at least some prophylactic antibiotics.
Hope this helps,

Having a hole in my eardrum I can tell you from experience do not put anything in your ear!!!!! You will crawl up the wall screaming with pain. You need to go to your DR. It will get better but not completely. I can put drops and stuff in my ear my it has also been 20 years since it ruptured. My hearing in that ear has not really improved much but when I plug my nose to pop my ears like when flying you can hear air whistle out of the hole in my drum. You really need to visit a Dr and have them look at it. since you are very concerned with your hearing it is your best bet in order to prevent complete hearing loss.

It is almost impossible to live with tinnitus but you don't have to. If you are hearing the noises, whether all the time or intermittently, you must seek treatment immediately. But sadly, conventional treatments only treat the symptoms of tinnitus and may provide temporary relief at best.
The only way you could ever get rid of your tinnitus for good is by following the holistic approach to healing. By using a multidimensional treatment for tinnitus, we are tackling all tinnitus causative factors and eliminating these triggering elements from the root. This is the only path for permanent freedom from tinnitus.

Please, do not put candle wax in your ear. This needs to be treated by a professional that specializes with the ear. An ear, nose, and throat doctor needs to be employed and then, they are the only ones who can tell you weather this damage is permanent. I hope that you on are on antibiotics for that perforated eardrum. If not, go to the doc and get some.

Did you see a doctor about this? If you haven't I suggest you do so now, as you already have a severe hearing deficit in one ear.

it will never come back unless you an artificial eardrum in the broken one. However they don't always work that well so you would need a hearing aid.

Go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and let him/her check your ear. You may need medicine or surgery...

was it the guides fault that you fell in---if so, submit your bills to them unless they had you sign a waiver
a burst eardrum--it will not heal itself---you will need to get a hearing aid most likely to hear properly
