Watership Down...?

In the movie "Watership Down" How did the rabbit Holly end up in Efrafa before he found Hazel and the other rabbits. It seems impossible because Efrafa is way beyond Watership Down. Even though none of that is in the book. How did he get all the way over there?

Hazel asks what Kehaar found. He found no mates, but found Efrafa. Holly resumes telling the rabbits of Efrafa. It is a very strict warren, not too far away from Watership Down.

Holly already knew of Efrafa before he found them.
