Microsoft offers a Free Small Business Page, as well as some other material. The latest mailout from Chris Pirillos Windows Fanatics list covers this; you should find this at lockergnome.com ; I received the info in an email this morning, but that was at home

There are several ways to do this. Yahoo and MSN both can help. I will focus on the Yahoo because I have setup this for clients (I am a web designer and make living doing this) and MSN only works with Windows PCs and I am on an Apple Macintosh.

1) First create a Yahoo ID (even if you already have one create another one) similar to the name of your business (i.e. "acmewidgetswebsite").

2) Then activate a FREE website from Geocities from this URL: http://geocities.yahoo.com/. Make sure you have logged in to your NEW YAHOO ID first otherwise it will prompt you to create one. Click Sign Up Now button. Start process. It will likely ask you to "Sign In To Yahoo" again and prompt you to "Please verify your password" while showing your user ID already. Enter password, click "sign in" button, proceed.

3) You will arrive at "Yahoo! GeoCities" and the page will say something like: www.geocities.com/acmewidgetswebsite: GeoCities Free.

4) It will ask you: 1. What type of web site do you intend to build? Click the "Small Business" radio button (circle).

5) It will also ask: 2. How did you learn about GeoCities Free? Click any of the boxes you want.

6) It will ask you to: 3. To verify your registration — showing us that you're you, and not a computer — please retype the following code in the field provided. Enter the code as you see it. Click Submit button.

7) You will see a page that says "Yahoo! GeoCities" and it will have the following: Welcome to Yahoo! GeoCities...Your Yahoo! ID and Home Page Information...PRINT THIS PAGE OUT!

8) Then click the text: "Build your web site now!" You will be iin a new page: GeoCities Control Panel (the website backend)

9) Start building your website. (if you need help email me).

BONUS: if you want to have a DOMAIN NAME appear on your website without actually paying for Yahoo Webhosting or GeoCities Webhosting here is what you do.

1) Go to: http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/ and register for a Domain Name.

2) Also search in Google for "$1.99 Yahoo Domain" and you may find a link to Yahoo's $1.99 Domain name promotion, which may or may not be in effect. If you find it click and register your domain for $1.99. Otherwise use the link in Number 1 above and register it for $9.95 (cheaper than the standard $35/yr cost).

3) Proceed to register you domain name following all the instructions. REGISTER ONLY THE DOMAIN NAME. Do not opt for any webhosting account of any other special services.

4) After your domain name is registered you can forward it to your FREE website on GeoCities by simply entering the URL for your FREE website into the domain name control panel.

5) Add your domain name MASKED FORWARD to: http://www.geocities.com/acmewidgetswebsite and then submit.

6) Now your domain name (www.acmewidgetswebsite.com) will forward and mask the "www.geocities.com/acmewidgetswebsite" and show only your domain name (www.acmewidgetswebsite.com). This will make your small business look "professional."

So you in effect have created a FREE website with a paid domain name. I hope this helps.

MSN has a free domain name and website offer but like I said I do not know much about it but you can likely find it on MSN Live under the small business section maybe.

Good luck and email me or IM if you need any help or don't understand any of this.

Try Yahoo. Type in your search bar "YAHOO WEB HOSTING" and you'll find all kinds of goodies from yahoo that are free. You can even list your business locally for free. I just used yahoo for this and it's great - especially for the price!

go to www.mydaddy.com

the best and cheapest web hosting site. Create a website on Microsoft FrontPage or even Word and upload it to mydaddy.

The cost is about $4 per year to keep your site up and running. It may be more money to register a domain (about $15) and to register with search engines.

do you use yahoo? if you do ,you will automatically have a free web hosting at geocities.
chek it out at www.geocities.yahoo.com
but the domain name are www.geocities.com/yourname
so redirect it with dot tk. and then your web name will be

You only need to find a host, I have several of the most popular free hosts listed below. If you are willing to pay a nominal fee then http://www.godaddy.com would be your best option.
