Should I drain it? Since I cut off the water and power the leak seem to have slowed a bit. I looked at the relief valve on top, and it seems like it was not activated (the little "handle" thing is still laying flat, no water on the sides of HW tank). Any ideas?

check the connections at the top of the heater and see
if you can find the leak, if so repair it, otherwise, go ahead and
drain it and give the old once over to find the leak -- if you
can't find, it's either replace the heater or shower cold

hook up a hose to the water valve near the bottom of the heater and drain the water.

You will need a new water heater it can not be repaired. You may have to call a professional, in some places a permit is required to install a water heater.

Good luck

I think it's time to replace the heater. Take your model number to Home Depot or Lowe's and find a like-in-kind replacement. They are not very hard to replace, but if you don't know what you're doing, you might want to hire a professional.

Do you rent this heater? If so, call the company and get a new one - mine was leaking and they just replaced it.
