Why did she live in her own village away from her husband, and wouldn't he had realized that the kid was not his?

And was her crime of treason her affair with the other guy.

She moved away so that she would be away from the public spotlight, seems to me that her relationship with her husband was portrayed as more amicable in the movie than it has been in history. Her crime of treason was due to her excess spending when her country was poor.
