Depression; bipolar disorder
Asperger's syndrome
autism
Attention Deficit disorder
Anxiety disorder
reactive attachment disorder
pervasive developmental disorder

That's a basic list. Kids are naturally influenced by genetics and their environment. If you give them an unstable environment by there is not consistency in love and healthy discipline and those kids will have a tougher time. Or if there were kids born to a parent with schizophrenia or depression or addiction, then it would make it more likely that the child would have similar problems. I suppose in extreme circumstances a kid could have substance abuse by age 6. That would be more understandable if he/she were living with an addicted parent with little supervision and there were drugs available.

Fear of the unknown.
Fear of abandonment.
Al Gore telling them the world is going to be underwater from global warming! This sounds like a joke but recent studies show that school aged children are losing sleep and are anxious about the environment after being force to watch his movie at school. Even if we as adult buy into the global warming hysteria, I don't see where we gain anything by scaring our children. It's like warning them about Iran and N. Korea, they can't fully understand it nor can they change it so why induce the panic!
