On the UK National census, there is a question regarding religion. Shortly before the census, there was an e-mail campaign encouraging pranksters to tick "other" and write "jedi" in the box. Rumour had it that the following census would then have to list Jedi as one of the options.

Jedi is a real religion just like Klingon is a real language yes and no. There are some people who "practice" jedi but it's not an actual religion. It's really just a kind of role playing game that people play.

It's not an organised a religion, but it's a philosophy with few true adherents.
Most of the people who state Jedi as their religion on the census did so out of protest of not adhering to a particular belief system or just a laugh.

Do you mean Yezidi? If so the answer is yes. Probably of Kurdish origin, the Yezidi keep themselves to themselves. They are not allowed to give details of their religion to outsiders and there are no converts. To be a Yezidi, you have to be born a Yezidi. Those who live in western Iran do not require that their women wear the veil, although when they leave their region they have to comply with the prevailing Iranian dictates.
They seem to have some secret which is traditionally hidden in the bedding stored away to be used for the unexpected guest.

It's heavily based on eastern philosophy. Note that the Jedi who die still appear to Luke, suggesting they still exist.
Yin-Yang balance is present as well.
I would have to say it's more of a mixture of a few religions...

The Jedi are extra christ like than christians, they have been arranged to stay and die for what they believed in and confirmed no concern. They allowed surely each physique to stay in peace, as long as those comparable human beings did not injury yet another. and that they carried lightsabers... SHWEET!!! it would look that they seem to be a monastic order of ascetics like with severe buddhists, even although maximum buddhists do not lead such minimalist existences although... i might say Buddhism is the closest you will possibly get to real Jedi, meditation, contemplation, concentration, awareness searching for.... sans the candy tension powers and lightsabers and all that. and to the different guy, that is OBI-WAN not OBI-ONE... And yeah, relating to the tension, the tension is in a position to talk to the living beings interior the direction of the Midichlorians, that are tiny beings living interior the cells of all creatures and existence varieties. some are extra "tension gentle" than others, maximum appropriate them to grow to be Jedi and practice those powers for solid. The tension could be seen as a device to do solid or evil, Jedi or Sith, and likewise as a sort of Heaven place, style of like Brahmin in Hinduism, the place while they die interior the videos, they "reunited with the tension" as a Hindu's Atman reunites with Brahmin ultimately. Or that is seen as some style of GOD the place they say interior the videos, Quigon says "We got here across him, and it replaced into little question the prefer of the tension, masters"... So i think of it could flow many approaches, and plus, there are a number of distinctive "sects" interior the ideals of the Jedi and Sith so it could get relatively complicated, flow to the Starwars Wikia in case you prefer extra innovations in this...
