Fear? doubtful that cards been played (along with the public)
Ole Georgie boy has already tried the cry wolf scenario
unfortunately he has done little since 911 to secure the country when the wolf actually is a threat
but I would also bet Gay Marriage
oh yeah and now that the election is close and they need the Far right wing nut jobs, they'll pretend abortion is one of their causes again too

Didn't really help them in the 2006 election, more and more people are realizing neither are threats of any sort to our country or our values.
A growing tactic is to say that Democrats hate America, claim they embolden the terrorists and undermine the troops. Make out the idea that "if a Democrat gets in the white house, the terrorists win" or some variation of that. Bush started saying that toward the end of the 06 campaign.

How about Gay Flag-Burners? I'm sure the GOP is investing millions of dollars into research that once and for all will prove that gays are much more likely to burn flags than any other minority group.

Not being a repub I couldn't say but I think it would be up to the people to accept or rule out those things but I can tell you that the democrats fear a lot more than the repubs. Their whole life is spent in fear.

The way the Dems are going the GOP should just shut up and let them self-destruct.
This is shaping up to be the most do-nothing congress in history (unless you count holding congressional hearings about how many squares of toilet paper Karl Rove used to wipe his butt, actually doing something.)
Americans are not stupid (in spite of the last elections), they will see that bad as the Repubs were, this crowd is infinitely worse.

Maybe talk about gay couples that have abortions while burning flags to light their hashish pipes. Why not just get it all out at once?

We'll probably just stick to the war, border, health care, social security reform.. You know the stuff that actually matters. Not the firing of lawyers, or out-ting of CIA agents that this congress seems to be more worried about.

They'll probably just let the previous two years under Democratic Congressional control speak for itself.
