kobe bryant, greatness or not?

i dont understand why people keep hating on kobe, you guys all have to admit that the guy is great, he is the closest any player can be to MJ. You guys say he is selfish, but what do when you have the ball and you know you are the only player who can make the shot, you shoot the damn ball, kobe is the go to guy on the team, the guy is a shooting guard and he is averaging 5.5 assists in a game, and he is the only role player on the team, so please could you guys tell me what you want the guy to do, i know M.J cannot be compared to him, but MJ had a supporting cast who delivered when he needed them to, Kobe is alone, so what do you expect him to do, I am not a Kobe fan, i dont believe he deserves to be MVP (steve nash should cos he makes his team better), just tell me why you guys keep bashing out kobe, bcos you all know, there is no way lakers can make the playoffs without him, and no other player apart from MJ, who does what he does on the court.

I think that Kobe is great.
However I think that Kobe's arrogance is evidenced by anyone who watches him play or speak.
Jordan was arrogant as well, but he hid that from his fans and made people believe he was a "tough competitor".
Really people don't like Kobe because of his personality and his snotty little demeanor.
Also people have a right to not like Kobe regardless of his on-court achievements...that's America baby.
The fact that Phil Jackson is coddling Kobe and standing up for Kobe against the Commissioner (in the wake of Kobe's wild elbowing of three other guards) is making Kobe look like the pampered little baby that he is.
You can't fool the people.
Kobe is a spoiled brat and the people don't honor that.
He can't make people love him, and the people don't.
And Kobe is not the first athlete to not be respected by his peers and fans during his career.

GREATNESS when it comes to the player, NOT when it comes to the individual.

MJ had a team and still managed to be that great of a player. Kobe doesn't have a team, he HAS to do it all by himself. No wonder he's putting those numbers down. Imagine if he was playing for Minesotta, it would be ridiculous.

When it comes to Kobe Bryant the player, that man has some serious talent. He can do it all by himself, even against the best teams in the league. This years, almost alone (with Odom out with injuries), he was able to manage to keep his team in the playoff run.

Also, recently, 3 games where he scored 50+ points in a row. That's just madness. Nobody in the league right now could possibly do it. Just think about Arenas who was babling about throwing 50 at Portland and only managed to score 9 and 19 in his two matchups...

When it comes to Kobe Bryant the individual, what he shows, he doesn't look like a kind, generous and respectfull gentleman. But then again, we don't know him personally. We just hear and read stuff about him.

But when you see a player getting multiple suspensions in one year and throwing elbows at pretty much everybody except his team mates, it shows the guy has no sportsmanship and his no role model.

Anways, he's played 11 seasons. There is no reason he haven't accomplished any of those things. Greatness would of had their hands on more then half of those thing. Don't believe me! Well go look a MJ, Magic, Shaq, Bird, Duncan, & Russell first 11 seasons then compare them to Kobe's! Those guys are greatness & they've made their mark by accomplishing those things. Kobe haven't done jack!

People let their opinion on Kobe the person affect their view on Kobe the player. I'm not condoning his off court antics because even if he didn't rape that girl, he still cheated on his wife and I can't respect a man that cheats on the person that he swore to love, honor, and cherish for eternity. Now Kobe the basketball player is an unstoppable monster that goes where he wants a takes you as a defender with him rather you wanted to go there or not. He is the best player in the game right and if you deny that, you are just a hater.

I know right everybody hatin on Kobe but what they don't say is how kobe wins games for the lakers and makes them a better team a little bit this man isn't really alone he's got Odom they're like batman and robin you know he has scored just these passed week alone 175 points by him self alot of palyers could never score half of that in their whole careers not even Lebron or Wade or Melo.

People hate on Kobe for some reason and I have yet to figure it out. I just wish all the haters would stand up like a man and admit it - their haters.

honestly, people who have a genuine knowledge and appreciation for the sport of basketball can NEVER deny kobe's greatness on the basketball court... no one has to LIKE him, but you can't DENY him.

(on a side note, in America, it is innocent until proven guilty, not guilty because the alleged victim took a buy out and the district attorney is about to drop the charges...)
