Peace is a tall order. There must be peace in the home, peace it the neighborhood, peace in the cities and towns, peace in the states, peace in the countries and maybe then there will be peace on earth. Our work is cut out for us.

Blaming relibion is stupid. Blame religious zealotry but not faith itself. There are plenty of Socialist/Communist countries that are anti-religious and have caused all kinds of violence and death. Cant' blame religion for that.

Human nature. People will never be perfect beings, and it is these imperfections, these character flaws inherent in every human that prevent peace from being anything but an idealistic dream.

As long as there is pride, envy, greed, anger, hunger for power, hunger for supremacy, etc, etc, there will be no peace.

Therefore, as long as there are more than 2 human beings living, there will not be peace.

This question was asked a lot. The reason is that the lobbyists and other interest groups such as arms corporations have many benefits from wars. Each one of them has a different concentration. These parties shape the foreign policy strongly, which makes the US always gets into the wars. Unfortunately the simple person pays the price.
