Another question from my pending radio program

Maybe equal rights, but not equal treatment. In the military, straight GI's can freely brag about their sexual conquests and the girl they left behind, while gays get discharged for saying anything. In high school, try holding hands with your sweetie in the hallway between classes. Know any openly gay professional football or baseball players? It's not the rights that are granted, it's the rights and freedoms that are denied, by custom if not by law.

No, in many states they are discriminated against in the areas of:

Adoption
Second parent adoption
Fostering
Employment protections
Housing and temporary accommodations (IE hotels/motels)
And of course LEGAL MARRIAGE.

ONLY ONE state even allows same-sex marriage and it's not even recognized federally because of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act)

Some heterosexuals will actually argue that homosexuals have the same right to marry as they have...as long as it's someone of the opposite gender, but that's ridiculous when you think of the big picture.
Heterosexuals are ATTRACTED to the opposite gender therefore they marry the opposite gender.
Homosexuals are ATTRACTED to the same gender so marrying someone of the opposite gender is unthinkable!

There have been some advances, like getting the phrase "sexual orientation" into civilly protected status for jobs and discrimination. Really the only thing that is still pending is marriage. I don't see any major issue past that, that the government could do anything about.

Of course not!

A straight woman has the right to marry the person she loves.
I do not.

Straight people are legally allowed to adopt and foster children in all 50 states. Gay people are not.

In all 50 states, straight people cannot be denied employment or housing on the grounds of sexual orientation.
Gay people do not enjoy those same protections.

And of course, straight people are welcome to serve openly in the military.
Gay people are not.

Is this "radio" progarm legitimate?? I'm wondering....

Anyway, the answer is no. When we can marry and receive ALL, 100% of the rights granted towards straight couples....then come back and ask your question.

Hell no! We can't put our partners on our insurance policies, or if our partner passes, then we cannot receive their estate, taxes, or anything of that nature. So no we don't have the same rights!

yes, gays can arrange to be able to make medical decisions for each other by signing a simple Power of attorney, they can arrange inheritance with a simple will, if they are too lazy to do this then that's their problem, not society's.

No because they can't get married so they don't get the rights/benefits of that, and they can be discriminated against when it comes to jobs and such.
