ok, here it goes, we had a discussion in english about muslim girls who have to wear skirts as part of their school uniform and that their religion doesn´t allow them to. Do they have to wear them or is there a special law for them?

I've worn skirts as part of my school uniform and never had an issue with this rule. However, there were girls who weren't comfortable - it's ok to wear skirts, BUT the school uniform skirts are generally above the knee. It would be preferable for strict muslim girls to wear skirts that came down to their ankles and in that way they could still maintain their clothing requirements. Some of the girls i went to school with chose to wear ankle-length skirts (and some went extreme by wearing the short skirts but with pants underneath). At the end of the day, it depends on how strict your upbringing is.

If it's part of the mandatory dress code they have to which is a good thing, because no one should get special laws just because they are a different religion or race, causes too much tension. When coming to America, do as the Americans.

you don't have to wear skirts as part of uniform and never been the case for many years you can wear trousers if one wishes to. as this could be deemed sexist.
