there was 27 official flags of the USA since it has been known as the USA. of course before the point when it was known as the USA (4th JULY 1776) there was more flags including ones with snakes on and LIBERTY written on them,with blue stripes with vertical stripes to mention a few.
27 flags as follows
official flags all have stars of numbers- 13,15,20,21,23,24,25,26,27,28,and 29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,and 43, 44, 45,46, 48,49,,and 50 and 13 red and white stripes (apart from the 15 star flag who had 15 stripes aswell)
but really theres many many different flags because before the 48 star flag there was no regulations for the arrangement and rotation of the stars, just as long as there was the right amount of stars you could sew them in any arrangement on the flag. and then theres those other flags that were made in anticipation such as 39 and 47 star flags that never became official flags but were still made because they thought they would be.
