I have cut it back and even pulled them out by the roots it just keep growing back.

It needs to be dug out. You must have missed some roots. It is a very tough plant. I plant mine in large containers and divide it often.

It definatley has to be dug... Mint is very invasive and can be contained by placing brick over it and cutting it's circulation...

In the past I have done this...

spray it with roundup. It may take several attempts, but it will kill mint eventually. Be sure you don't overspray onto something you don't want to kill.

Stop pulling it. That just pisses it off! LOL
