why is it that families in the third world still keep having babies? don't the parents realise that they are only bringing suffering to the poor soul, i make regular donations to charity HOPING to help in some way, but would the money be better spent EDUCATING the adults on contraception?

Church often is the main source of contact to many deprived areas and the Church's stance is still anti-contraception.

I think Christianity has a lot to asnwer for, and chaning their stance would make a real difference.

Contraception is not usually available to them and they often keep on having children because a big family often means more stability, in that the children can look after the parents as well as the other children, as well as working on the land and bringing in food.

I'm sure there are many other reasons but those are the ones that i can see.

The answer is most certainly in education but it takes time.!

It's not that simple. Some families can't afford contraception in the third world. Women don't get the pill for free like in the west and a condom can cost half a months wages.

I totally agree with you i know that what i am going to say is going to offend some people.

This is where i get lots of thumbs down

I think that something thing should be done about reproducing, they should give the men the snip (sorry guys but its a lot cheaper and quicker)
I know that I don't have the right to say how many children people should have but with there communities expanding so quickly and there not being enough water, food, medicine etc to treat everyone they should concentrate on the people that are here and now which in the long run will make a better way of life for themselves, instead of constantly having to struggle now.

I give money to charity, through charity shops (oxfam) the people that stand there with the tubs at the shops, i give money to my children for school as they are always doing a sponsored something to raise money for third world countries, I always give money to comic relief.

I know that the money that is raised really helps them and changes their lives but their lives could be better if they their community wasn't constantly expanding the money could be used for more

sorry if i offended anyone

I see your point and have thought that many times. Seems when Aids is rampant and whole cities are poverty ridden making babies should not be the thing to do. It's human nature though and birth control probably isn't an option. You should start a new charity that gives mandatory depo shots to these women.....but i'm sure that won't fly very well.

Your measure of happiness is not the same as happiness in the third world. You have seen pictures of the third world as presented by media begging for donations. Go to the third world you are hearing about and you will see that what you see on TV and magazines are exaggerations of the truth.

Now, how does it feel to be unborn? Is it better that one is not born if only to have no shoes to wear? Where would America be if there were no shoeless blacks working unpaid as slaves?

If you are not born at all, what is your hope to be in heaven? If every couple will only have one child, in a generation that will cut the population in half. In another generation, it will only be one fourth. Pretty soon, your country will have only old people and you will ask for young people to do work for you.... from the countries in the third world.

Basically they have animal instincts. Eat/drink, sleep, & fu*k for pleasure. The kids are a bi-product of the latter, like kittens or puppies
Mass sterilisation is a viable answer, but the do-gooders will never allow it.
They'll never change, so save your money, or donate it to something worthwhile like Cancer Research.
This is not racist, just fact..

i'm sure that they are not being educated about contraceptives and they have no access to doctors or condoms/pill...

once a baby is here though you have to feed him/her...so food had to be purchased.
