Fred Thompson would be a good candidate to throw his hat into the ring. What we have now seems to be Giuliani and McCain (what a weasel!). Fred Thompson would certainly brighten up the picture a bit.

Absolutely! Anyone who can be a fill-in for Paul Harvey has the right stuff! :) Besides, the GOP doesn't have an electable alternative at this point....of course, I don't think the DNC does either, thank god!!!!!
And as far as being an actor.....I believe he was a US Attorney prior to his first acting job...then US Senator from Tennessee.....

I would think Republicans would be against this, since they constantly criticize liberals for letting actors get involved in politics *coughSchwarzeneggercough* and would certainly never elect an actor to the office of President of the United States *coughReagancough*. Republicans are far too consistent to do anything like that.

The man seems very honest and forthright - that gives him a big boost in my book.
He should run only if he brings something SIGNIFICANTLY different from Guilliani (who at this point is a shoe-in.)
