is there a way to check your cervix your self to see if your dialated and if so how will you know. if the cervix is thined out

Don't go feeling your own cervix, you might injure yourself.
Leave it to the professionals. You wouldn't know what to feel for anyway.

This is easier if you did it when you were TTC, but you can still try during pregnancy.
Make sure your hands are clean and that your nails are well trimmed.
Your cervix will feel kind of firm, like the tip of your nose. If you are starting to efface, then it will feel softer, more like your cheek. Feel for the center of it and you'll find a spot that, if it is still closed, feels like a little dimple. If you are starting to dilate, it will be more of a small circle or hole. That is the os (opening) of your cervix.
It is usually easier to reach to check your cervix yourself if you are sitting on the toilet or standing with one leg elevated. I found that standing with one leg up on the side of the tub seemed to work well.

Don't do it yourself, you are not trained to do it and you might rupture something, or get an infection....Only your doctor should check your cervix.

i was wondering the same thing, but i can't even feel mine, i guess it is pretty far up at 28 weeks pregnant

You will have to get your doctor to do this for your. I wouldn't suggest you try this yourself.

i would not check myself what i would do is just wait for your doctor to tell you if you are or not! good luck!
