Like the world, and other countries-people and their personality types differ widely.
Having grew up in two countries, and living a decent amount of time in a third; by observation I will assert that Americans may be "on-message" more than the rest of the world seeing that our cultural/entertainment/politica/economical trends are followed on a global scale.
If you listen to rap, wear nice cloths with name brands, more than 40% of your dvds are out of hollywood and you believe in hardwork progress you are basically fullfilling and leading to fulfill basic American ideals. There are variations on these thing pending on your genration and taste but I hope you see the point.

This site does not make ALL Americans appear to be funny. It makes SOME look funny, some look ignorant, some look flat out stupid, some look wise, some look scared, some look shy, some look silly. America is made up of many different types of people, just like any other country.
And in all actuality...the ones who TRY really hard to be funny....really are not.

If you're talking about being funny because they're so ignorant, then yup a lot of Americans are like that. I'm an American, born and raised and it's ridiculous how stupid some Americans are. As a whole, our country acts like we know everything and we're the best at everything, when really we're a bunch of ignorant idiots who only listen to stereotypes and lies we see in the media. It's really sad, but oh well. At least I'm not one of the stereotypical Americans.
