I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. The ice-maker was making ice just fine for a year. Now it makes about 10 cubes / day. Also, I do hear the water going through the tube maybe once or twice a day.

The arm is down, so that's not the problem. The ice bucket is also all the way in.

Someone suggested I clean it with vinegar, but, embarassingly, I don't know what they want me to clean with vinegar.

Also, could I alter the temperature so it possibly "fixes itself?" If so, should I make it cooler or hotter? And should I direct more or less cold air to the freezer side?

I am obviously not that handy and my husband isn't taking care of this, so any simple instructions (besides calling a repair man) are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a high mineral water source it is possible there is a clog in the supply line or valve.

If your meat is hard froze I wouldn't recommend adjusting temp.

A handyman probably has an add in your local paper and should be able to trouble shoot the problem ( make sure you ask if he/she has experience in this area).

Best suggestion is to contact Kenmore or check your manual for troubleshooting.
Sounds like some blockage in the water input line. If so, the water line may need to be disconnected and cleaned or flushed out. You may need a technician.
Neglecting this may eventually damage the ice maker.

the line may be clogged or your water pressure is too low
