How come peoples lies eat me up so bad?

What could I do about the lies people tell about me?

You really can't do a dang thing about what comes out of someone else's mouth. Once it's out, it's out. Some people are just liars. You have to ignore it, call em' out on it, or ignore them.

For those of us who try to lead honest lives, it can be very hurtful to witness the dishonesty some people perpetuate every day.

I, for example, have a very hard work ethic, and even when I'm getting paid jack I work my butt off. I make sure everything is done properly because that is what my job is. But I turn around and find my coworkers sleeping on the job, or doing drugs on the job, or lying about what they have or haven't done that day. It eats me up pretty badly, too.

Since there are no lie police, however, we can't report these offenses to humanity when we see them. The best we can do is just to go onleading exemplary lives to the best of our abilities. Hopefully one or more of the "liars" will see that somebody like you leading a happy and successful life through honesty and realize that life is a lot better when you don't have to be constantly watching your back to make sure there isn't somebody dishonest about to tell a lie that hurts you.

Find out what you are doing that would have the effect of people telling lies about you.

Turn the other cheek. Don't let them get to you. That's what people that tell lies want ... attention. Don't give them the satisfaction!

You could ask them why they're not truthful with you - otherwise, just pray for them - they need all the good words and thoughts they can get.
