Ok I`ll give it a go as nobody else has attempted a proper answer.
The multiple anomalies lead to different places in time. His wife seemed to be happy living in some of those alternate realities. She also seemed to have a better understanding of why they were occuring and how they might affect our timeline.
The final episode implied that a couple of the baby creatures stayed alive and so affected the modern day by altering the past. I personally feel that if this was the case then the changes would have been more profound than just one person disappearing unless there are more differences to come.

i've got in basic terms seen it on BBC united states of america and enjoyed the instruct, so as that could be a pity in the event that they have cancelled the instruct. Being an Ex Brit, interior the States, I hire lots of those British television exhibits, and prefer many human beings are oftentimes disillusioned, that there are not extra of those sequence we adore or love. on an identical time as we tend to make various horrific exhibits, that flow on continuously. permit's wish they shop Primeval for yet another 3 hundred and sixty 5 days or 2.

I liked it. Needed better art direction. And someone professional to check continuity and storyline (the big picture not the little picture).
But it was a good effort, I'll give them a thumbs up.
Only by comparison though with other UK TV.
What with FilmFour, Lion's Gate and Handmade Films today, you would think we could have at least the quality we had 20 years ago on TV.
(edit)
Sorry I didn't think you wanted it explained. I didn't think it was that difficult. It's the time travel thing. You know the old cliche. Watch Austin Powers if you need the science;-)

There wasn't any point. ITV were trying to bridge the gap of prime time television by putting a science fiction based adventure series to try and compete with Dr Who. Notice how ITV were so scared of failure against the BBC they decided to show it before the next series of Who comes on? I for one would much prefer to travel through time and space than run away from dinosaurs and giant spiders! And was that blonde girl the one that was in Hearsay...I thought it was and I only saw one episode and thought it was s.h.i.t.e

It had the same point as all the other rubbish they air, incase you need examples: Jeremy Kyle, Corrie, Emmerdale, any of the 'talent' contests (the list is endless) and then you have the repeats of said shows and adverts. Your answer, theres no point.

in the words of harry hill:
it's like Dr who but isnt
I think it was supposed to be as exciting as dr who as the bbc ws gaining a lot of ratings, it could have been a good programme, but the cgi and the "puppets" in it are dissapointing.
