The super arthritis miracle drugs, Vioxx and Celebrex have been the target of liablity lawyers and Vioxx removed voluntarily by Merck. Many people are petitioning for the return saying they will monitor the risks to their hearts in exchange for being able to walk and move about pain free. Would you?

My son has a very rare abdominal sarcoma with very few treatment options. Vioxx was actually one of the drugs being used by patients with his disease with some amount of success. It's withdrawal as an option for these patients was devastating. Only one patient whose mother is an oncology nurse was able to gather enough Vioxx to continue treating her son. He is cancer free . . not necessarily totally from taking Vioxx . . but it does seem to have kept the sarcoma from developing. At the moment we have about four patients using Celebrex as a 'maintenance drug ' . . and so far, so good . .they are doing well.
I wish people who did not understand because they don't have cancer or a child with cancer . . or they have political agendas or motivation would stay out of all this.
We feel that vioxx should remain an option for those who have few options to begin with.

Today's drug manufactures are as unethical as illegal drug cartels. Both drug peddlers prey on human weakness and suffering. I have arthritis and have taken lots of medications to ease the pain. Each medication came with adverse side affects,ranging from inability to carryout daily task to damage to internal organs.I have finally found the best treatment for this decade of pain is not a drug , diet and exercise is the wonder treatment. Anybody who is willing to play Russian roulette with their health might want to make an appointment with their mental health clinic. The best things in life are FREE.

IT REALLY DEPENDS .if there was no other drug say for cancer and i had to take it to live 'then i would.I was on vioxx and it made me feel so weird and shaky i had to stop....with my insurance I'm lucky to just be able to get inhalers 'as they don;t have nothing that really helps...all my meds are generic and a lot of meds the good ones anyway don;t come in generic;s good luck

I don't think so. Still, that's easy to say when you aren't in horrible pain. Then again, what would you do if you were in so much pain you just couldn't stand it? You never know for sure what you would do until you are faced with the situation yourself.

I wouldn't. These drugs were never intended to be used long-term. And, actually, Celebrex is still available through prescription. However, it's usage has greatly declined because doctors know how dangerous it is.

No. I did not take Vioxx or Celebrex earlier and will not take them now too. I have been managing my arthritis without them and hope to manage the same in future too.
