There are a host of reasons that an HP will not print.
One is you are out of ink, if you have a system that takes ink tanks or cartridges that are smart chipped one may be empty or expired. IN this case you need to replace the effected cartridge.

You may have a cartridge with faulty electronics, this means it is no longer recognizing in the printer. IN this case you need to replace the effected cartridge.

Another is that your cartridges have dried up or are empty. this will result in the printer spitting out a blank page. Again in the case replace the cartridge.

You may have a communication error. Check all your connections. Make sure you have the correct driver.

One may be if you have recently updated your OS the driver may have been effected. Log onto HP.com and download the latest driver.

You could have a driver problem and the printer can actually be malfunctions. The other thing that happens is sometimes the cable could wiggle out because of heat expansion. Double check your connections to see if the printer is even plug in. The other possible problem is that the spooling service is disable. This is a program that handles all of your print jobs. See if it enable by right clicking on your printer (if even detected.) If the spooling check bock does not have a check in it, then enable it and try your print job again. I hope this answers your question. Sometimes the print spooler program is the problem so you should disable it is enable. Call up HP to see if you can't get free tech support. Your printer should be under warranty if it is new.

First, check the Device Driver. It may not be installed correctly.
To open Device Manager, click Start,
point to Settings,
and then click Control Panel.
Double-click System.
On the Hardware tab,
click Device Manager.
Right-cl the item to be checked and select Properties.

You should be told whether or not the item is working properly. You can also update the driver from here.
If this doesn't help, send an e-mail to HP's support. Just two weeks ago I had a problem with my HP. I received a reply within two hours and HP even followed-up with an e-mail to see if I had been successful. Fortunately, my problem got solved.

Write to HP.
