thorpe park is one of the best theme parks its run by tussards who own alton towers and chessington world of adventures it would be an ideal park for your army cadets thorpe park is home to stealth on amity speedway its an extreme ride that shoots you out at 0 to 83 miles an hour in 2.3 seconds and takes you up 205 foot it had its nitrogen boosters tweaked for 2007 and goes faster than last year it is a ride that should not be missed then there is nemisis inferno it twists and turns you with a g force of 4.9 and leaves you wanting to ride it again ,colosus is the worlds first 10 looping roller coaster it twists and turns you and it is a ride that makes you want to keep riding it over and over again there are four water rides there as well there is loggers leap you ride in a log boat and go through the dark and then it takes you up a hill and drops you and you do get wet but its a fun ride, there is tidal wave it takes you up a hill again 190 foot and then drops you the other side you get very wet on there and water proofs are a must.one of my favorite is rumba rapids the boats seat up to 8 people and you get squirted on by water you go through a tunnel and get very wet and its a bumpy ride but suitable for all ages the last water ride is depth charge you sit in a dingy and go down a big slide you do get wet but its a fun ride and suitable for all ages one ride that is always worth checking out is x no way out its a roller coaster in the dark and it takes you backwards its not a fast ride but being in the dark it scares you a bit but makes you laugh as well.there is a ride just opened now called the flying fish its a roller coaster but its suitable for all ages its more of a tame coaster before you tackle the bigger rides the roller coasters at thorpe park have a g force of 4 to 5 and stealth is an extreme ride colosus is a very bumpy ride and but its well worth visiting thorpe park to ride it and nemisis inferno you sit in a seat and your legs are hanging,i reccomend thorpe park because it caters for all ages and there is something for every one from kids to people who dont like roller coasters you wont be disapointed check out there website which is www.thorpe park.co.uk

Blackpool Pleasure Beach, every time.

Why?

It's more compact than most of the others, yet that doesn't mean there are fewer rides, many rides cross each other or encircle others, so you can get between rides easily.

Sideshows and games are quite varied - there's some classic arcade games still tucked away there as well as a good few new ones.

Even the 'rides' you probably wouldn't think were fun can be quite entertaining, the 'Noah's Ark'at the North Entrance looks like a kiddy attraction, but it's disorientating enough to keep teens and adults amused for a while as well.

The kiddy rides are all nicely tucked away in one place as well, so you can steer away from that if you want.

The high end rides, The Big One, Valhalla et al are all superb fun and can pull you back again and again (warning, if you go on Valhalla, be prepared to get WET, I know a thing or three about staying dry on water rides and on my first ride got the pick of seats in the car, and I got drenched).

The park is also located in town, and you can come and go as you like, so you're not restricted to having to buy your food on site, just nip out the gates, head about two streets back away from the promenade and find somewhere to eat - odds are it will be pretty decent.

Blackpool has always prioritesed being a fun place, sure it caters for the kiddies but it's not as sanitised as the more modern parks - it just fits as much as it possibly can into a relatively small place (compared to Thorpe Park, Alton Towers et al).

Blackpool also has things on site that will keep even ride cynics occupied - it has pool tables there (including 6-sided tables the last time I visited), a bowling alley, various shows and tests of skill.

I visited Blackpool a lot as a kid, as I had relatives from the area so I learned a lot more than the average tourist, but as a teen and an adult I always loved the place.

Note: If you;re in a rush, check their website - they used to do discount weekends before Easter Weekend, sometime the rides wer half price, or even 1pound, I;m sure I remember them being 50p a ride one year.

Thorpe Park or Alton Towers!! Chessingtom used to be good - but I don't think their rides are that thrilling anymore. Alton Towers has a lot more rides then Thorpe park, but then again at Alton Towers the queues for the rides are ridiculously long!! I prefer Thorpe Park because you get a chance to go on some rides more than once even though there is not as many!!

If you are taking a group of kids maybe it is better to go Alton Towers though because with more rides there is more of a selection to cater for each of their needs even if they do not get a chance to go on most of them. Not all kids like the scary rides and vice versa!!

It depends where you are based, but for number of quality rides I would always say Alton Towers.

Having said that, if you are closer to London then Thorpe Park has improved dramatically over the last 10 years. The new ride Stealth is a must! If you are going on a warm day, Thorpe Park has some great water rides aswell.

The Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain is a useful resource (see below).

Definately Thorpe Park. It's probably got the same amount of big rides as Alton Towers, but it's about a third of the size, so there's not so much walking, therefore, more ride time!

Alton Towers is the best. If you take them anywhere else, they'll think of it as a punishment. Alton towers get all their best rides, straight from the USA.Take them on a teacher training day if possible,no so many Q's

I used to love alton towers as a teen but went last year and it was full of chavs and litter everywhere, I wasn't impressed. The rides are very good though, much better than anywhere else.

Depends where you live. I'd say Thorpe Park (Surrey) is the best for teenages. It used to be more orientated towards younger children but now is excellent for the more adventurous. If thats too far I would recomend Alton Towers.

Both great fun.
