What makes it your favourite or makes it most unusual?
Is the book written in "real time" with a clock on each page? Is there diary entries on the edges of the pages? What makes it unusual?

don't laugh but the most favorite set of books of mine was when I about 5.
the outside of the book on the back had little tiny pic of all the fairy tale characters that was linked to the book's publisher.
after reading the book I would go thru the fron and back cover and just try to memorize who was on them

My favorite book of all time is still JD Salingers "The Catcher In The Rye" I was only 13 or 14 the first time I read it.
What does it for me is the universality of the theme - Holden is actually a very moral person who gets caught in very immoral situations. He's also flawed and fragile.
Now I need to go read it again.

My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
What makes it unusual is people that think they know me make certain assumptions about me and they would have never guessed that this book is one of my favorites.
What makes it my favorite is when I tell people it is my favorite they confuse Ayn Rand with Ann Rice and I know that I am dealing with a donkey.

The accident of the dog in the nighttime. Weird book about a guy who doesn't like yellow things because it reminds him of the yellow fever etc. That's unusual.. Also because he is clever and wants things clean.

The ability of the author to put a plot twist in the middle of the story and you not even know it until its too late.

i think my favorite book is "THE CHILD CALLED IT!" it is real, and sick, and he lived to tell about it.
