Steve McNair- this guy is a brilliant qb and a playmaker who leads by example, meaning he doesnt have to say anything to get his teammates to play at a higher level. his presence is enough. he does not hesitate to sacrifice his body, health or statistics to win a football game.

Has got to be the captain, Stevie Y.
Also have to mention Rick Mahorn. He played like a bad *** on the court, was a jokester off the court and was a nice guy who helped the community out of the goodness of his heart, unlike a certain other Piston player/Knick coach.
And race car drivers are not athletes. Have you looked at Tony Stewart lately?

I don't know if racecar drivers are considered athletes but hey its the fans who make then the athletes right! ? :)
My favorite was Dale earnhardt YAY but ever since he has passed I still liked him just picked 2 others to cheer for!
