my computer detects my wireless signal. but it has "no connectivity" the wireless modem is enabled. it is set to auto detect the IP address. the signal strength is excellent. I don't know what else to try. I am using my netgear wireless router to connect 2 desktops to the internet (the wireless router is connected to the modem, and I have 2 cat 5 cables going from the router to the 2 towers) Is this why the laptop will not connect or detect the IP address?

You may need to change the channel that it is using. In may house the only ones that work are 1-6. Most routers default to 11.
