Well because you aren't technically WHITE. You are not caucasian. You are hispanic or other.

You qualified your generalization much too strong by writing "all". Even though this question would probably be better suited in an L-D debate, you still need to define your terms. Exactly what does hispanic mean? Is it different than "latino"? If so, what are the differences? What does "latino" mean? You seem nervously insistant on making sure that whites understand the differences. Why? Is this something a majority of whites need to know? Why? Are you afraid that you want to be acknowledged as white, but won't be? Why? Is the worth and value of your life and soul defined by white people "seeing" you as white? Why? Are you striving to be socially acceptable in white circles? Why? I'm a white man. Would you accept me in your social circle? Should I "see" you as being white? Does it really mean that much to you?

Interesting question. We have a large Hispanic population where I live. I worked with an Hispanic woman who was married to a white man. She would always talk as if they different, but I never saw any difference. It never occured to me.

Why would we think that. Just because you might have different color skin doesn't mean anything. My brother is married to a half Mexican, half white. Of her 3 sons 2 look more Hispanic the other white. People need to quit judging people because of the color of their skin or nationality. I was raised very prejudice and I changed. Just because there are bad people in this world doesn't mean that all are bad. Hell half of the people I know are bad are white.

well i'm english and i don't think hispanics are 'white'! i'm not racist i just don't think they are...they are probaby the fittest out of all the kinds i'd say... they aren't white, they aren't black, they're hispanic...personally i don't think there['s anything wrong with it... have you ever heard of hispanics being taken the piss out of? not even in jokes...anywhere, 'white' people have stigma cos of how we trated 'black' people in the past and 'black' people have a kind of stigma that they're really touchy about it now (although it's not that commom anymore) but what racist stuff do you hear about hispanics? nothing! So I'd say it's a good thing ...although were you suggesting that people think hispanics are 'black'? Just for the record i think they have the characteristics of both...

Hispanics come in all different shades, just because they may be fair skinned does not make them white though! White Americans are "just" fair skinned, no different shades!

Most Americans seem to have a pretty 'aryan' view of what 'white' means; being of germanic/anglo-saxon descent themselves. In fact it all seems pretty basic and crypto-nazi. Thank people like Nordau for the mess.

Spaniards are of course European and Caucasian: INDO-EUROPEAN. Mexicans are not.

We do not get any of the white one here in north Ga. Just the Indian variety. Unless you watch a lot of telemundo, you will not know any different.
