could it be that the alien that landed here in 1947 was our equvilent of a chimp? like when we send chimps in to space to do our stuff that may have been thier chimp. a more primitive looking alien that is naked such as the roswell one.

well if they were so sophisticated as to not use thier version of a primate then why would they crash in the first place? must have been a test run.

Interesting theory, but I think a species as technologically advanced as one would have to be to cross the void of space, would have something more advanced than resorting to chimps.

unfortunately, the statistics make other intelligent life in our galaxy very unlikely. if you think of the age of our galaxy and the odds of two species evolving at roughly the same time the coincidence is practically impossible. a civilization even 1,000,000 years older than ours would've colonized the galaxy several times over, or atleast covered it with their transmissions. if you insist that the galaxy is too big for life NOT to have evolved elsewhere we would've noticed them by now. and no one who can travel interstellar distances is gonna send test animals (what would be the point? an AI would be more useful) or crash land on a planet. let alone flit around in saucers covered in neon lights. or kidnap people. that's just silly.

Sorry, that alien is now our next door neighbor, and other than the fact that his house glows and hovers about twenty feet off the ground at times, he is not chimplike and is a great guy.

I would think not. If they are intelligent enough to master inter-stellar flight, they don't need no chimps.
