and a grandchild that is 4. About 5 months ago he and my daughter got into it and he moved out and was living with his cousin. Well he had to leave there bacause his cousin's brother was coming to live with. Now he has not worked in 17 months. I let him come back to stay here cause i felt sorry for him. But just dont seem to care about nothing but his alcohol and drugs. So i quess he will never change?

You should never have let him back in the first place. Speaking from personal experience...
If he hasn't worked in 17 months, that's his problem. If he has a problem with drink and drugs it's up to him to sort himself out. You can't spend the rest of your life playing housemaid to someone who clearly doesn't give a rats a$s about anyone but himself. Get him out of your house for once and for all, and find yourself a decent man who will take care of you and treat you the way you deserve to be treated. He's not worth it, babe.

Dump his butt! Your children and grandchild are more important then this loser. You can do a lot better then that :) You dont want that kind of influence near a 4 year old!
