I planted 3 lemon seeds a few years ago. The seeds came from a lemon that I got from the grocery store...
Anyway, they are taller than the house now, but have never produced flowers or lemons.
I was reading that it may take up to 15 years for them to produce. Unless they are grafted or propagated from an already producing tree...
Well I do have a lime plant that produces, so I was wondering how this could be done and what would I get?
Limons? lol
I searched google, but couldnt find what I was looking for.
Can anyone explain, or give me a good website that shows me what to do?
Thanks!

When you propagate by grafting, you take a small cutting from one tree and graft it to a small twig plus roots of another tree. You don't inherit any characteristics from the host tree, although it would be fun to call them limons! Here is one site to show you how http://www.treehelp.com/trees/citrus/propagation-by-grafting.asp

some of the fruits you get in the stores are treated and will not propagate however I have used these seeds many time and had success. the lemon tree I have now came from a seed that came out of the store,, it gave me 300 lemons the second year and about 700 this last year!! your tree is prbably a mule,, maybe it was treated with radiation or something.. and no,, they do no take 15 years to produce!! NUT trees take that long.. the best thing is to keep fruit trees in a large large pot,, if you get fruit then transplant it!!

Wow, congrats!
Ok, what I've found is this: one, a seed planted from a lemon or a lime or somesuch won't necessarily grow true to it's parent. See: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/calif/msg0815485719942.html?10

Two, all citrus is compatible, so yes, it should work. This site is the best I've found for info: http://www.cloudforest.com/cafe/forum/10394.html What you would get is somehow a mix of the two.

And a quote:
"I've grown over a dozen from seed. I think I have one or two clones (polyembryony is quite common in lemons) so these should be strong and produce good fruit. After 6 months they are between 6 and 8 inches tall and just starting to branch now. Planting seeds is hit and miss as to what quality of tree & fruit you will end up with, but if you get any clones (more than one distinct seedling appearing from a single seed) hang on to them as these will perform as well as their parents!" http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/38317
