carb kit is a very good possibility as i has the same trouble with an old evinrude of mine the kit is basic needle seat and float . that should get you out on the water again ! price varies by state and location ive noticed

Sounds like restricted/gummed up fuel system. Change filter and clean carbs.

sounds like it could be a carb kit problem but try to bleed the air out of the fuel lines first.....just worth a try

is this one of the ones that has the rubber/silicone "fuel pumps" in the carb? if so thats prob it and its got a hole crack in in it... (they are hard to find too bit its a cheap part when you find it.. about $15 )

do it right. take the carbs. off and clean them thoroughly.
