I enjoy playing video games with my friend, but he's a terribly blatant screen peeker. Whenever we play system link or online my scores are always better than his, but split screen he usually wins by one or two points. It has become even more obvious now that we're playing Call of Duty 2, and I can watch on the "Kill Cam" how he magically knows that I'm right behind him. I've confronted him on the issue many times, but is there a good way to break him of the habit?

Clarification: we don't have two copies of CoD2. We are playing split screen, so turning the turning the TVs is not an option.

I also appreciate the vocabulary updates, but even if the term is suddenly changed to "Screen Chicken Hunting", the problem is still present.

I've seen some people take a cardboard bo and set it up as a divider, that seems to be the best solution to me, a lot easier tahn killing him lol.

When they do it sometimes doing it back to them gets them to kinda stop at least a little bit, no fun dieing every 30 seconds in halo when i have sniper and pistol lol

This is a big problem with multiplayer games. But its not entirely their fault. Some times when you play a game like a first person shooter, some areas of the maps have different colors, which you can see in your Peripheral vision. And when you see a certain color you pretty much know where they are at. Usually me and my friends play on different TVs and network our xboxes. But if you can't do that, i would suggest trying to play online on a team that way screen watching wont be a problem. Other than that just remember its just a game and that sometimes its hard to ignore your peripheral vision specially when it may result in your characters death.

Playing on split screen is almost impossible not to "screen peak" me and my friends play around yelling at each other that they did it but in the end its hard not to. Even if you dont try out of the corner of your eye you will see two people on a screen and when you see the other screen like that or even a sniper scope on someone else and you know its you your going to move. So no matter what if you mean to or not you will do it.

No not really. If you share the same tv they'll always do it. My brother and boyfriend do the same thing. So if you can get on opposite tv's and point them AWAY from each other it's best. That's what we do now to make it fair.

And it's normally known as "screen watching"

if i see someone and i think they might peek i see where they are going and look at the ground or wall and strife. if you feel uneasy then look down so you can only see their feet. or you can just tell them that their shirt is on fire or something to distract them for a second to get into position. whatever.

Lol its pretty inevitable unless you get a hot rod and zap him with it every time he does it. Negative reinforcement is the key. I solve my problems through violence.

put a piece of paper over your half of the screen, that'll keep them from looking at it.
