The only person who is truly convinced of John Edwards' chances is John Edwards. Shouldn't he do something more constructive with his time, like support his spouse whose cancer has returned?
Yech. I don't get it.

Interesting assumptions, folks. I'm an independent who skews Democratic.
Am I involved in their marriage? No. If I were involved, I'd be there. But that's just me.

Oh yes: What business is it of mine? This man is asking for me to give him my vote for the highest office my nation has. I'm certainly entitled to ponder his character when deciding whether he rates my support.

As a Liberal...I'll tell you....John Edwards doesn't have a chance of winning the nomination. Barak will win.
Edwards needs to go home, and be with his wife.

Yeah didnt he seem cold when they made their little announcement?? His body lang how far did he sit from her? Why did he announce it why not her?? A little cold hearted if you want my opinion but then again its the Liberal way isnt it John Mirtha John Edwards same damn thing cut and run!!!
All I know is this if my wife were dying of Cancer and had a year left to live I would nt be spending my time running for president and my body lang would be a little different than Mr Edwards was!!!! So dont tell me what a solder Mrs Edwards is not happening with me. I look at it as being more of a fool if you again want my opinion!!! Oh and last time I looked I can still do that have an opinion its still America thanks to President Bush and our Military!!!!

As someone who lost a very close family member to cancer, I can relate to John and Elizabeth.
I had started a new job 2 weeks before I knew my Mother's cancer metastized to her brain. I kept working, visited her everyday after work, spent all my weekends with her. I took some time off to take her to doctor's appointments and to relieve other family members. When she went into hospice it got very difficult emotionally, but I knew she would have understood that I was unable to quit my job, I even went away one weekend to relax and blow off some steam.
If you never went through this, than who are you to judge?
I may have some regrets, but I know deep in my heart that this is what my mother would have wanted me to do. She was very selfless in this way.

i might % to comprehend in the event that they investigated all concepts; in line with possibility someplace like maximum cancers therapy centers of us of a might desire to extend her life. i do no longer think of Elizabeth might desire to venture herself to the grueling schedule and crowds which actual won't be able to help her. i think of they the two might desire to forget approximately approximately this election and spend as plenty high quality time as available with one yet another and their little ones. in spite of everything, construction memories together with her little ones is plenty extra helpful than working a marketing campaign that's doomed to failure besides. If by twist of destiny Edwards did win he might desire to no longer in all possibility provide the attention of the Presidency required. All in all, it grew to become right into a clumsy determination yet for the reason that he won't win they are in a position to make all of the silly alternatives they %.

That is the choice they made as a couple.
I have to respect it.
It wouldn't be my choice but I am not John.
I pray that she recovers quickly and gets back to full health soon.
btw: I am a conservative Republican who doesn't want Edwards to win. That doesn't mean I don' pray for the health of those I disagree with.

He should have been called Mr. Vice-President years ago if Bush hadn't fudged the election!
His wife WANTS him to continue his quest!
Too bad more people don't have courage of their convictions!
Mrs. Edwards is a shinning example of fortitude and strength and courage!!
Sounds like something this country really needs!!

I am not at all a fan of Edwards, but this is a decision between him and his wife, who is anyone to say what they should be doing.

"Why doesn't John Edwards just give up his doomed campaign and go be with his ailing wife?"
For the same reason short people buy big cars.

I don't get it ether. After all he is only one of a few "Remocrat" (combination of "Reps and Dems") candidates who are all the same (though Obama seems to be a peace lover, and therefore I pray that, please God, he will be elected). But I think it is greed for power which still drives Edwards.
