You didn't because there isn't a carbon exchange open to individuals. [edit: Jahpson, you're right, but this guy didn't buy them.]

Funny that a conservative like you would be against it, though. Carbon credits are a form of something known as a Pigouvian tax, embraced by conservative economists at the University of Chicago and Stanford for many DECADES now as a market-based mechanism to control pollution.

So, you SHOULD feel like an idiot.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Carbon credits are a tradable permit scheme. They provide a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by giving them a monetary value. A credit gives the owner the right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide."

So Basically you bought the right to breathe
you should feel like an idiot. I've been breathing for free my whole life

Because carbon credits are stupid. The whole concept is dumb. I know I don't want to cut back on my use of energy, and I have extra money, so I will give it to non-profit companies that look for alternative fuels to offset my excessive energy use.

Well I was thinking about kicking several dogs, and drowning some cats, and although that is wrong, is it OK if I donate money to the humance society to off set my animal abuse.

Does that last statement sound really stupid? Well carbon credits are the same thing.

Alias Smith and Jones- actually there are carbon options for individuals called Personal Carbon Allowances.

you probably feel silly because now you can use electricity, gas and what not and dont need a carbon credit to trade in. Just sell it (if you can) and get your money back

Isn't that what Han Solo used to buy drinks in the bar on Tatooine?

You are not an idiot.

If I had the money, I would too. I do other things to try and protect the environment. The problem is that this is not a scientific issue anymore. As a political issue it's subject to nasty and vicious tactics.

But, the folks out there who are arguing against global warming would LOVE to be making you feel like an idiot. Stand tall and proud for what you believe in. Folks in other countries don't even get to do that.

Be Heard, Stand for your Principles!

You think that's idiotic? I just won 2,000,000 play money chips on PokerStars and I told my boss that I'm quitting. Well, then again, I guess what I have is more concrete than your carbon credits.
