I think her political views are a little too far away from the center of the political spectrum for me to support here. Has nothing to do with what kind of woman she is. IF she were Mother Theresa and I didn't agree with her views, I wouldn't support her.

If you consider Hillary a decent woman, then you have forgotten MUCH of the Clinton years. I recommend you START with reading "The Death of Outrage" by William Bennett (Secretary of Education under the Clinton White House).
Clinton was (thus far), one of the top 10 most corrupt Presidents in US history, right up there with JFK and LBJ and Nixon.
And don't forget Hillary's "Big Lie." We've been trying to prove for 10 years that she ran for the Senate to position herself for 2008! All the while, she cried, "I have no such aspirations" in public, while those who knew her privately said "she's gonna run." She LIED for 10 years.
While one of the biggest issues of the past 20 years has been "Do we give homosexuals equal rights"? the evangelical Christians (including her own husband), have remained silent.
But she has really put her foot in her mouth by OPENLY flipping off the Conservatives who put her husband in power.
Can Hillary win without the Conservative vote? (they're bigger than the "women's vote."
She "believes that homosexuality is not a sin." That's fien, ut it's not going to be fine to the electorate.

Whether one agrees with their views or they don't, Clinton was ordered by Congress (their right) to produce some thousand documents. As of today, 2007, some 12 years since Clinton left office, some 200 of the subpoenaed documents have not been produced. Where are the missing documents, and why has America and Congress stopped demanding the documents?
Clinton severely curtailed several of our Bill of Rights freedoms, including the right to bear arms, and freedom of speech. Why aren't we all screaming for his head?
Those who would elect Hillary are those with VERY short memories.
There was even SERIOUS talk that Clinton is Cuban Mafia. Why what THAT connection never pursued? Is he REALLY THAT cute? JFK's Irish Mob connections have been thoroughly discussed. Nixon's Cosa Nostra connections were discussed EXHAUSTIVELY! Why have Clinton's Cuban Mob connections been IGNORED?
Who does he have his gun to the head of?
And will we EVER find out who murdered Vince Foster?
It has been said that greatness is not thrust upon those who seek it. Hillary seeks Greatness. More than greatness, however, Hillary seeks total power. (let's not forget that whoever is President of the United States becomes by default the single most powerful human being on the planet, at the command of the world's fiercest, best equipped fighting force, and at the helm of the world's richest democracy.

Put things into perspective. 50% of the USA voters (approximately) are registered Republicans. They are going to bash any Democrat, just as all the democrats bash WHOEVER the Republican is.

Secondly, there are still a significant percentage of the population that think a woman may not be psychologically suited to the office. Americans know the Clintons, and either love or hate them it seems. Many think she should have left Bill, so there's prejudice there, as well.

I'm a middle of the road person, I switch parties. I NEVER bash a seated President, a rule I made for myself the morning Jimmie Carter was elected, and have seldom broken, as difficult at times as that has been. But I agree Hillary is a decent person, an intelligent person, and capable. With Bill at her side, I think we'd have another 8 years just like with Bill, with ups and downs.

America has gone crazy with its lack of respect for its elected politicans, and it has hurt the country.

Because of the simple fact that she is a woman. I am a strong democrat and a feminist. So she's got my support all the way. However MEN don't want women to be in control. If she were to be elected into office she would be the leader of the free world. Leading all of congress and all of the senate, which are mostly men.
My uncle is a senator and he's backing the other guy who is running for president...I haven't asked him yet, but I will ask him why?
If she gets woman to vote for her during the general election. She has a great chance. We need a woman to take charge and it's not like she doesn't have experience. She was at the white house for 8 years. Making decisions for Willie.

It's 'decent,' not 'descent.'

To answer the question, I think a lot of people are resistant to the idea of a female president. Another bad thing could be that she's married to Bill Clinton, and that's not always a good thing. Her democratic affiliation might be another strike.

I am willing to honestly listen to her views. I don't think any of the above reasons mean she would be ineffective.

Because she presented herself as the uberliberal during her husbands time in office. She is very polarizing - people either love her or hate her, there doesn't seem to be middle ground.

She seems to be more moderate as a senator, however conservatives claim that is just posturing to get elected president.

In my opinion, Bush has destroyed the GOP's chances in 2008. The next president will most likely be democrate.

1. Being a decent human being doesn't qualify you to be president.
2. She doesn't qualify as a decent human being!

She's a two-faced do-gooder. She thinks we should give half our paychecks to everyone who won't work for themselves.
