Since just the announcement of the surge, violence is dramatically down in Iraq, mostly in Baghdad (where most of the fighting in the 4 regions was taking place).
Do you look forward to the violence ending due to a successful campaign? Or would you rather we end it in failure to ensure a larger problem in 5+ years?

It's time to pull the plug on this blood for oil war. It was started over a pack of lies to make a bunch of money for Halaburton and the big oil companies. Send George and Dick over there and let the chicken-hawks finish it.

"Successful Campaign?" LOL. Over a hundred thousand Iraqis are dead--2 million refugees--their economy and infrastructure wrecked. The are emproiled in a civil war. And the majority would just as soon kill us as look at us at this point.
The "war in Iraq" is a failure--as we told you cons it would be years ago. Will we be happy to see the end of a waste of American lives there. D**m right we will. Liberals do care about the troops--and after the revealations about the VA, any pretense that the conservatives care whether our soldiers live or die has evaporated.

i'd have a hard time believing anything this day. we have reports that say somewhere in the viscinity of nearly 700,000 iraqi citizens have been killed since the start of the war, and we have a president who clearly denies these numbers, and news organizations who won't work any harder to find the real truth. i believe a lot of what is often reported is often in the interest of "national security", and sometimes that's just a matter of making people feel more secure, even when they aren't. so you take a war, that's obviously going nowhere. more and more american soldiers are dying everyday. more and more iraqi citizens are dying everyday. and you have an administration who's finally - and hopefully - being held accountable for all their incompetence in handling the situation. with a presidential election right around the corner, the administration needs something to show that this war was not a total screw up. so they fake some statistics. no big deal, it's not like they haven't done it already, and slowly pull the troops out, and declare victory, and everyone's happy, right? that's all b.s. if you ask me. so no i'm not happy.

Don't count your chickens. The insurgents have gone underground in Baghdad, but I don't think anyone has high hopes that this will quell the violence there in the long term, or anywhere else in central Iraq. If anything will end the civil war, it is the negotiations between the Iraqi government and Sunni insurgent groups.
So I ask you: are *you* haoppy that your puppet government is reduced to negotiating with terrorists?

I think the real war ended a long time ago when we beat the Iraqi army. What we've been involved in the last couple years is more of a police action. We're trying to police a civil war. I do hope it ends soon but don't believe it will. Until we deal with Iran meddling in the politics of Iraq this won't be over.

Yes, I am very happy that Commander-In-Chief Hillary Rodham Clinton will finally bring the troops home.
That will be a great day for America and the world.

Have you ever considered that the high level of violence is due to the PRESENCE of US troops and the fact that Iraqis are fighting a CIVIL WAR?
Once US troops withdraw, Iraqis and their neighbours will have to face reality.
They will have to kill each other off, or negotiate a peace.
Simple as that.
What exactly in this situation is difficult for you (and Fox News) to understand?
