You may be getting your games mixed up
World of Warcraft does not have "Heroes", Warcraft does (different game). In World of Warcraft, you simply have different character classes and races.
Each Class has different capabilities. While some may be better at serving a particular function, no class is necessarily "better" than another.

If you were to battle an experienced Human Warrior with good armor vs an experienced Dwarf Hunter with good armor, the hunter would win for they pown warriors BY FAR. It doesn't really matter what race you are, just what your weapons/armor/class is/are. If you are beginning, Start with a hunter, so you get the hang of it. Warriors are boring and really bad later on. I started over at 51 with my warrior. Druids are way better. Ask me online if you want.

You can not compare the two...really you cant compare any class/race to eachother. But out of those two my personal choice would be the nightelf/hunter - orc/hunter. But it all depends on what you want to do range or close range.

As a Gnome Warlock I would rather have me a warrior as a meatshield than a hunter.
