We have been playing jokes on each other for the whole time we have known each other, its our way of showing affection, but lately they have been getting worse, all since his 40th birthday.
I shaved his eyebrow while he was sleeping, so he put a snake in my sleeping bag, then I shaved his dog, so he burnt my letterbox down, things like that.
On his 40th birthday I put all these used condoms in his bed. Since then he has stepped it up a notch, the brakes on my bike have been cut, then he spat in my mouth when I was sleeping (I was awake), and last friday I went home feeling weird and sick and spaced out, turns out he put acid in my sandwich.
We have been friends since school, I dont know what his problem is. I dont know what to do, I dont want to see him at the moment, but we are best friends.
Has he gone too far? What can I do?

Yes, he has gone way to far, depending on the type of acid he could have killed you. Now in my books that is no longer a joke.
If you are truly best friends just be straight forward with him and tell what you think, tell him that things are going to far and getting out of hand. It sounds like you two enjoy the jokes so tell him to back off a little.

Has he been dropping acid in his own sandwichs?. I don't particularly like your used condom trick, that one was nasty. Some will tell you to grow up_But my Dad and his friends did this til the day they died and they always had tasteful and funny, witty things they did. We could sit and laugh for hours at Dads escapades. We have him on tape - he didn't know we were filming him and now the Grand kids sit and listen to Dad and his jokes and the things he did- If its done with taste and no harm- then it's fine -But Your friend has gone to far.

I believe a truce is in order before someone dies. Tell him it has gone WAY to far, and slippin acid is totally not cool. Friendly fun pranks are ok, but he's crossed the line into downright dangerous.

Uh... Yeah he's gone to far. If you don't want to be around him because of what he has done then he has gone to far. What you should do is go to him and tell him how you feel. If he is a worthy friend then he will understand and he may actually feel similar to the way you feel. If not then he isn't worth your time any more.

Be honest with him. Eyebrows are one thing but cutting the brakes of your car and adding acid to your food is endangering you life. You're both adults(though certain behaviors would contradict that) so sit him down and seriously talk to him about it.

Yes he has gone too far but then again so have you both of you should sit down and talk to each other about this situation cause you could have been very hurt or even died

he might be thinking the same about you. used condoms? i hope it was a fake mixture. but i know guys don't take kindly to "used condoms" i saw many guys freak out in college over those. all the things he did to you were horrible as well: spit in your mouth-GROSS, cut your brakes-REAL NICE, and acid- DEADLY. i think you two need to talk it out and no more pranks. use your awesome prank powers on someone you both don't like, but not on each other. talk to him, i am sure you guys can work it out.

yes he has gone too far he has come to the stage where the joke is not a joke any more because you can seriously get hert by these things hes doing now. i suggest u tell him how u feel if u are best friends he should understand. hope it helped :)

It seems like he is really trying to hurt you. You should find out what is wrong with him, or you might lose a good friend trying to stay away from him. Or maybe he is trying to take the game to another level. You should ask him.

Grow up and stop giving the rest of the male gender a bad name. I'm ashamed to say that we share the same basic anatomy.
